Pecan Cake Bars with Cream Cheese Filling

Eat While: on a lawn, listening to Phish with 3,000 other fans

Pairing: Glass of sparkling white wine or peaty scotch

Dedicated Time: 55 min + cooling time

Components:

For the Crust: 

1 box yellow cake mix

1 stick (1/2 c) butter, melted

1 c chopped pecans

1 egg

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix ingredients together until combined.

Press into a 9x13 pan.

For the Filling:

2 eggs

8 oz cream cheese, softened

3 1/2 c powdered sugar

Combine ingredients until smooth. Spread evenly on top of crust. Bake until golden brown, ~40-45 min.
